一歩Support
Ippo teaches Japanese from your first kana to the JLPT N5 level: hiragana and katakana, twelve units of lessons with homework, kanji and vocabulary cards with spaced reviews, unit tests and a mock N5 exam. Ippo Pro opens the full course and AI Sensei, which checks the sentences you write. N4 and N3 are planned.
Contact
Write to tokyonightowl@proton.me with any question, a problem, or a mistake you found in a lesson. You can also tap Report a problem inside a lesson; it goes straight to us with the exercise attached.
Restore Ippo Pro
On a new iPhone, or after reinstalling the app, open You (the avatar on Today) and tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple ID you bought Ippo Pro with. The paywall has the same button.
Cancel or change your subscription
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. In Ippo, open You → Manage subscription, or on your iPhone go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Ippo. Cancel at least a day before the renewal date. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Keep your progress on every device
An account is optional. Without one, your progress stays on your iPhone. To keep it on every device and on a new iPhone, sign in under You → Account. Your progress then syncs to Firebase in the EU.
Download or delete your data
- Download: You → Your data → Download my data gives you everything Ippo keeps about your learning as a file.
- Delete your account: sign in, then You → Your data → Delete account. Your account and everything in the cloud are deleted for good. The progress on your iPhone is deleted when you delete the app.
- Deleting your account doesn't cancel an Ippo Pro subscription. Cancel it as described above.
AI Sensei
AI Sensei is part of Ippo Pro. When you ask it to check your homework, the sentences you wrote are sent to Google's Gemini model in the EU, and the feedback comes back. The app asks before the first check, and you can turn this off again. AI Sensei can be wrong: tap I disagree on its feedback to tell us.
